5th Annual Carol Concert at the Lifestyle Centre

Carol Concert

The Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre was delighted to host its 5th annual carol concert on Monday 10 December. Over 150 local residents came along to enjoy the entertainment by three superb choirs: Wythenshawe’s own 050 choir, enthusiastic contributions from the Willows Primary School Choir and all rounded off by the Manchester Airport Choir of BBC 2’s ‘Sing while you are at work’ fame.

Lillian Galloway, Chair of the Woodhouse Park Pensioners group said, ‘This just gets better every year, and once I’ve been to the concert I know Christmas is really here’. Everybody had a wonderful time and as well as the entertainment, guests enjoyed refreshments and a gift from a very special guest in a red suit.

Keith Howell, Centre Manager, was delighted with the turnout once again and also thanked his colleague Sue King and Cllrs Brian and Barbara O’Neil who work really hard every Christmas to make sure this event happens.

Cllr Eddy Newman praised the efforts of all concerned and commented on the real value of the Lifestyle Centre, ‘in bringing people together, taking part in activities and improving the quality of life for local people’.

Other guests included Willow Park’s Chief Executive, Joe Doherty and Nigel Wilson, Designate Chief Executive of the new Wythenshawe Community Housing Group: who together assisted Santa in distributing presents.
