CX Chat March 2025

Welcome to CX Chat March 2025. We're sharing what we learned at our recent Customer Experience Committee meeting. Customer Experience Committee is where residents and Group Board members have their say on important matters. Mohammed Abase, a new member of the Customer Experience Committee talks us through the highlights from the latest meeting.

Mohmd Abase“Hi, my name’s Mo. I live in Wythenshawe, and I’m a tenant with Wythenshawe Community Housing Group. Last year, I joined the Customer Experience Committee. It’s where residents and board members work together to improve the quality of services. We focus on what matters most to residents.

Together at Moorcot Court

In our March meeting, we talked about Moorcot Court. It's one of Wythenshawe Community Housing Group’s high-rise blocks of flats. Last year, our Tenant Satisfaction Measures survey results showed some residents didn’t feel safe. They said the building wasn’t very secure and the area was looking messy. Some people also worried about anti-social behaviour. We asked Wythenshawe Community Housing Group to look into it and act.

Here's what they did in January and February:

  • Everyone got a new door fob replacing the old ones
  • The door system was updated to stop people getting in without a fob
  • Some residents volunteered to reset the front door when the door release was used by mistake
  • The Police, fire service and Community Safety team spoke to residents
  • Residents picked the new paint colours for the shared areas and they’ve now been painted
  • A new TV screen was put up near the lifts that shows local updates and safety information
  • United Utilities and Groundwork shared tips on saving water and energy
  • Residents, a local group and colleagues worked together to pick up litter and clean up nearby

It was a real team effort and it’s made a big difference.

A closer look at home swaps

We heard from our Scrutiny Group. They’re a group of residents who look at how services work and share ideas to help improve them. This time, they looked at how easy it is to swap homes with another resident. This is often the only way to move if you’re not classed as being in urgent need. They found the process works, but not many people know about it. They also found a website called HomeSwapper.co.uk is the easiest to use. We’ve asked Wythenshawe Community Housing Group to let more people know about it.

Want to get involved?

There are lots of ways to have your say. If you’d like to join a resident group or want to know more, please get in touch. You can email getinvolved@wchg.org.uk or call 0300 111 0000.”
