Two Child Limit for Child Tax Credit, Housing Benefit and Universal Credit overview

Having your third (or fourth, fifth plus) child?

The government has introduced a two child limit into Child Tax Credit, Housing Benefit and Universal Credit. This means that if you already have two or more children and become responsible for another child on or after 6th April 2017, you may not see an increase in these benefits – although there are exceptions.

Go to the ‘Two Child Limit for Child Tax Credit, Housing Benefit, and Universal Credit’ page to find out how this change may affect you.
