In September, nine community volunteers gave 36 hours of their time to support the Lifestyle Centre Fun Day. Volunteers supported the busy tombola stall and refreshment stall, as well as running the popular scarecrow-making activity stall. Volunteers worked well as a team and took responsibility for handling cash on the stalls and safely handling food and drinks orders. One volunteer said that she had had a great time, and was eager to come back and volunteer again.
Supply chain partner:
Mitie Facilities Management
Colleagues from the Investment team supported employees from Mitie Facilities Management in completing a team challenge at Benchill Community Centre. Volunteers from Mitie and from WCHG teamed up to repaint two large rooms at the centre over three days.
The team chose a neutral grey colour which is similar to the colours of the Lifestyle Centre refurbishment, and will withstand wear. They also donated some extra
paint to the centre, so that we can maintain the colour ourselves.
Mitie Facilities Management were awarded the contract for our concessionary decorating and painting services and delivered this event as part of their social value commitment to Wythenshawe.
