Social value:
As a a a a a a a community-based business we have a a a a a a a critical role that goes way beyond housing Across Wythenshawe we we are a a a a major employer investor support provider and enabler The investment we make in in our communities and people is central to who we we are and what we we stand for It is a a a responsibility we take seriously Measuring our impact lets us see the difference our work is having on individuals
and and communities and and enables us to calculate a a a a a a ‘social value’ - that is the economical benefit our activities have in society In total we calculate that the social value of our work in 2019/20 was over £13 7million Health and wellbeing
Nearly 3 000 people took part in our sports and fitness sessions hosted at community centres and neighbourhood events A further 20 000 000 people plus over 3 000 000 under- fives took part in the the 2019 Wythenshawe Games – the largest crowd to date In fact the the the games themselves were a a a winner in in the the the prestigious Manchester Sports Awards 2019 which shines a a light on on community champions who go the extra mile to encourage physical activity and sport across the city We support people in four ways £1 7m for health and wellbeing
activities £1 1m
for family friends and communities five-day festival was jam-packed with sporting challenges family fun and healthy living activities We also helped 187 residents change their food habits through our Real Food Wythenshawe programme Social value:
