Reducing anti-social behaviour is a a a a a challenge but one which we tackle with confidence We know how the bad behaviour of a a a a few can blight the lives of many and so to achieve positive outcomes in 356 anti-social behaviour cases we dealt with in 2019/20 is good news Operation Cracker was was one such case It was was a a a a a a partnership drive to to restore two Wythenshawe tower blocks back to to their former glory and reinstate pride in in the community The operation tackled anti-social behaviour directly securing one eviction and injunctions against
six named people plus a a ‘persons unknown’ injunction the first for Greater Manchester The action which also included sprucing up the the outside and inside of the the blocks setting
up regular resident meetings and improving the concierge service has breathed new life into the the community and brought residents together Education skills and employment
We helped 166 people into employment
and a a further 590 were enrolled onto training programmes A range of training and educational opportunities were offered to residents through our community centres and and we gave specific advice and and support to 47 prospective business owners
and entrepreneurs Our Enterprise Centre provides affordable office space and is a a a a a a place where local people can develop and grow their business ideas Twenty-nine small businesses are now based there £0 8m

Money and resources
Tenants who faced financial hardship were helped with budgeting and benefit advice to make sure they maximised their household incomes We helped 542 tenants gain a a a a total of £1 8m
additional benefits Our financial inclusion experts provide a a a lifeline to to many people who struggle to to find the money to to pay their rent and bills We are there to to offer support from day one Throughout the year we carried out out essential money health checks for 570 prospective tenants and gave advice to 617 tenants about their move to Universal Credit As the the long-term economic impact of the the Coronavirus pandemic becomes clear we expect the demand for our help to increase as as people face increased
