WCHG ‘Homes for Britain’ Campaign Film

Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG), support the ‘Homes for Britain Campaign’ after launching a petition at our Tenant Conference's in November 2014, where it received overwhelming support from the tenants of Wythenshawe to ‘end the housing crisis within a generation’.

Homes for Britain is a united voice for housing, representing all parts of the housing sector, who have all come together for the first time to put housing where it belongs – top of the political agenda.

WCHG are among many organisations backing this campaign that calls on all political parties to commit to ‘end the housing crisis within a generation’.

The Homes for Britain coalition includes organisations from every corner of the housing world and WCHG have been asked to take part by the National Housing Federation, the voice of affordable housing in England.

Addressing tenants at their annual Tenant Conference, Nigel Wilson, Group Chief Executive of WCHG said; “We’re excited to be supporting this campaign and have launched our tenant petition.  We strongly believe that the construction of new homes will generate new growth in the economy and new jobs, which is why we are backing this campaign to tell the politicians of all parties that building new homes makes sense for Britain’s economic recovery.

We also believe that everyone should have the right to a home they need at a price they can afford and we currently have a number of social and affordable housing developments totaling 500 new homes under construction, including our £20million Extra Care Scheme, Village 135, to provide 135 much-needed homes for older people to rent or buy.”

We look forward to meeting all our colleagues at Westminster on the 17th March to petition our leaders to put this at the top of the political agenda and ‘end the housing crisis within a generation’
