Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) has shown its support for the Wythenshawe Transplant Centre.

Staff at the Parkway Green Housing Trust, who joined together with Willow Park in April 2013 to from the new housing group, helped to raise £750 for the centre based at Wythenshawe Hospital, after their Employee Group selected to be their chosen charity for the year for 2012/13.

The money was raised through a combination of donations from both staff and customers and Chair of the Parkway Green Board and Executive Member for Adult Health and Wellbeing and Member of the Executive, Cllr Paul Andrews visited the centre to present the cheque to Sister Sabine Manduel.

Wythenshawe Community Housing Group Chief Executive Nigel Wilson said, "The centre carries out fantastic work and we are very proud to help celebrate and recognise that. We hope our contribution can play a small part in the work that they do and wish them all the very best for the future".

Janice Taylor from Wythenshawe Transplant Centre said, "The level of support we received from organisations like WCHG allows the charity to continue supporting the Heart and Lung programme at the Transplant Centre in Wythenshawe Hospital.  Every penny raised is spent specifically in the unit to help keep Wythenshawe at the forefront of technology.  We greatly appreciate the efforts made by your employees.  Thank you!"
