Have you bought an e-bike or scooter this Christmas?

Make sure it’s a safe one. Some cheaper or fake models can cause serious fires, especially when charging.

Here’s how to stay safe:

• Only buy from trusted sellers
• Use the battery and charger that came with it
• Never charge them indoors while you’re asleep or out
• Replace the battery or charger if it’s damaged or overheats
• Don’t charge it next to beds, sofas or curtains
• Never block exits with them
• Don’t leave them in shared spaces like landings or hallways.

A safe gift is a better gift. Look after your home and everyone in it.
