Applications for WCHG Community Grants Now Open

Wythenshawe Community Housing Group’s Community Grants Panel is looking for new applications from the community and voluntary groups in Wythenshawe by the end of March 2016.

Last year the panel awarded over £45,000 to various local Community Groups in Wythenshawe who benefited from a grant.

One recipient was the Tone and Trim Community Gym who received funding to help pay the rent on their premises in Wythenshawe Town Centre for the first year. The Gym is aimed at providing gym facilities to people of all ages and abilities to improve their health, wellbeing, quality of life and lessoning social isolation. This project is directed at those who have medical conditions and are finding it hard to exercise; they have been offered premises that are accessible to all including wheelchair users.

Janice who runs the gym said, “Thank you to Wythenshawe Community Housing Group because without this funding I would not of been able to open this Gym, which is for the people and community of Wythenshawe”.

Senior Community Investment Manager Sarah Woolley said, “Last year we were able to help lots of community groups in Wythenshawe and there are still funds available in 2016. So please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you think your group can benefit from this scheme”.

If you part of a Community Group who are looking for up to £2500 in funding for a project then please contact Pedro Odjidja on either  0161 946 6315 or for an informal  discussion about your project.
