Bags of Help Tesco Scheme – Every vote can make a difference

Every little helps!!!!!!!

We are pleased to announce that the WCHG Grounds Maintenance Team have been successful in securing a minimum funding of £8,000 from the Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative scheme in conjunction with Groundwork, http://www.groundwork.org.uk/News/groundwork-to-administer

Bags of Help will see money raised by Tesco customers through the 5p bag charge go directly back into the local community.

Currently a unused plot on Amberley Drive, we aim to transform this piece of land into an Orchard which will be known as

‘Amberley Community Orchard’ project.

The lasting legacy for the community will be to enjoy the produce of apple and pear trees, shrubs, wild flowers, potting shed, raised beds, with access paths for all to enjoy.

Our prestigious ‘Gold’ award winners the ‘Real Food’ team will also be working on the project and engaging local volunteer members to get this project of the ground.

The voting window to make your vote is the 27th February until the 6th March, this is your opportunity to really help us make a difference to the local community.
