The Eden Project donation to Real Food Wythenshawe

The Eden Project, based near St Austell in Cornwall, has donated £150 to the Real Food Wythenshawe Project, the Big Lottery funded project managed by Wythenshawe Community Housing Group to encourage local people to ‘Grow it! Cook it, Eat it’.

This donation was a thank you to the Real Food Team members, Jacqueline Naraynsingh and Pamela Moran, for a presentation they gave at the Eden Project’s Big Lunch Extra Road Show earlier this year in Wythenshawe Park.

The Real Food team are going to split the donation so that Bideford Community Centre and Johannesburg Gardens, who work with the Real Food Team on several projects, both receive some funding for future Real Food projects.

Eric Smith from Bideford said; “This donation is gratefully received.  The money will put the money towards plants to support our allotment project this year.”

Margaret Denson from Johannesburg Gardens “We would like to thank Real Food for their kind donation of £75.  The money will be used to buy plants and compost to provide fruit and vegetables to be shared amongst the elderly residents.”
