Great Manchester Run – 10th May 2015

2015 will be sixth staging of the ever popular Great CityGames Manchester, and we’re looking forward to welcoming some of the biggest names on the planet back to the city, including the return of Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill, who will be competing in the 100m hurdles in her first competitive race since becoming a mother and Katerina Johnson Thompson who recently took pentathlon gold at the European Indoor Championships.

Field events, including the pole vault and long jump, will take place in the pop-up arena in front of the Town Hall in Albert Square. The now famous, purpose built, Great CityGames track will once again take over Deansgate, hosting  exciting sprints and hurdles races.  The event, as always, is completely free to spectate and no tickets are required - but space is limited so get down early and enjoy the atmosphere.

The Great CityGames Manchester will be held on Saturday 9 May in Manchester City Centre and will be shown live on BBC One and BBC One HD from 13:00 – 15:00. The event is part of a weekend-long celebration of sport which includes Europe’s biggest 10K event, the Morrisons Great Manchester Run on Sunday 10 May.
