Extra care gives you the freedom of your own home, with support close by when you need it. Village 135 Our extra care scheme, Village 135, offers: Your own flat with a front door and private space 24/7 on-site care team for planned care and help in an emergency Flexible care that’s built around you – you can start with just a little help, and if you ever need more, we’ll chat with you to see what’s right Shared spaces like a lounge, garden and dining area, with regular social activities so you can stay connected Our team right here on-site to help with anything housing-related Is extra care right for me? Extra care might be a good fit if: Everyday tasks are becoming harder, or your memory or mobility is changing You want to stay independent, but feel safer knowing help is nearby You’d like to stay in Wythenshawe, close to family, friends and community You want peace of mind, whether you need support now or might need it later How do I apply for extra care? You can apply for extra care through Manchester Move or get an application form by emailing Village 135. How long will I have to wait? It depends on your needs and availability of apartments. You could wait a long time, and if your needs are low priority, you may not get an apartment. What costs am I responsible for? Rent, service charges and care costs. You will pay for: Rent or mortgage payments Service charge payments that cover the cost of looking after the building and shared areas (this can include cleaning and lighting in shared areas, grass cutting, repairs and maintenance) Care costs if you need help Extra charges for food from the bistro, the salon and guest rooms. Facilities at Village 135 include: Shared spaces and gardens A bistro is open for breakfast, lunch, snacks and takeaway, 6 days a week with regular theme nights Hair and beauty salons Guest rooms for visitors Laundry rooms and assisted bathrooms Emergency alarms and 24-hour staff Services like the bistro, haircuts and guest rooms have additional costs. Can my partner move in? Yes, if you are both over 55 and you have been approved by the panel. Will staff come into my apartment? No. It’s your home. Staff will only come in if you ask or in an emergency. Can I have visitors? Yes, it’s your home. Friends and family can visit and stay overnight if there’s room. Do I have to tell someone if I go out? No, you can come and go as you like.
