A new era begins as Wythenshawe Community Housing Group is launched

Parkway Green and Willow Park Housing Trusts have joined forces to create Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG).

This new parent group, which came into effect on the 1st April 2013, will be responsible for almost 14,000 homes across Wythenshawe and provide employment to over 500 people.

Building on the strong legacy of each partner, it will bring strength through unity, deliver efficiencies and, most importantly, provide an improved service to tenants.

WCHG's vision is to create "A community where people choose to live and work, having pride in their homes and services".

Chair of the WCHG Board, Eddy Newman, said "Being Chair of Wythenshawe Community Housing Group is a great privilege.  I look forward to working with WCHG's new Board and building on the existing skills and talents of our two Trusts.  Together we will be working for the benefit of all our tenants in Wythenshawe."

Nigel Wilson, Group Chief Executive for Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, said; "The excellent track record of both housing trusts means that, together, we have a fantastic opportunity to invest in and benefit the entire Wythenshawe Community. The creation of a new group provides an exciting partnership which will benefit the tenants of both housing trusts and place Wythenshawe at the heart of social housing in Manchester."

The partnership will generate savings of up to £2 million per annum, and this saving will be re-invested for the benefit of our tenants and the entire Wythenshawe community.

Wythenshawe Community Housing Group's headquarters will be at Wythenshawe House on Poundswick Lane, Wythenshawe, but all other Parkway Green and Willow Park offices will remain open, providing a seamless transition for all our tenants.  Customers will continue to be able to drop in to all the offices and all contact details remain the same.
