Supporting the new Community Library which will be based in Parkway Green House in Northenden.

Manchester City Council's Communty & Cultural Services (CCS) are looking for volunteers to join them in this new and exciting development.

The Community Library will be open 15 hours a week and is opening on Monday 18th November , the opening hours will be :

Monday 2pm-5pm        Tuesday 10am - 1pm        Wednesday 10am-1pm        Thursday 2pm - 5pm       Friday 10am - 1pm

CCS are in the process of working with Friends of Libraries and local community groups in order to facilitate the opening of Community Outreach libraries based in local communities.

The volunteer opportunity will be interesting and varied, and will include meeting and greeting customers and talking to them about  what the Community Outreach Library has to offer, helping customers to use the self service machine ( showing them how to take books out, return and renew books), creating displays to promote book stock and events, perhaps helping to deliver story sessions events / activities e.g. craft activities , fun days etc, and generally dealing with customer enquiries.
