The government has designated Greater Manchester an Enhanced Response Area for Covid-19

The government has designated Greater Manchester an Enhanced Response Area for Covid-19, due to the Delta variant spreading faster here.

As an Enhanced Response Area, we will receive more support from the government to deliver vaccinations and testing.

We all need to do everything we can to help stop the spread of the virus and protect our family, friends and community.

Manchester is still open as usual for business – and if we all follow the guidance, we'll be able to continue enjoying what the city has to offer.

Please remember to:

- Take extra care and meet people outside, rather than inside, wherever possible

- Follow all the rules around social distancing, face coverings, washing hands, wiping surfaces and keeping windows open.

- Get your vaccination when it is offered to you.

- Take free twice-weekly tests (these are the lateral flow kits for people who do not have Covid symptoms). If positive, book a PCR test immediately to confirm the result.

Please keep doing your bit.
