WCHG Welcomes Simon Morris as new Executive Director of Finance

Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Executive Director of Finance, Simon Morris, who will take up his new role with WCHG in January 2020 and will succeed former Executive Director of Finance Richard Coughlan.  

WCHG manages almost 14,000 properties, providing homes to more than 20,000 people in South Manchester and provides local employment to 540 colleagues. Recently awarded the prestigious ‘Investors in People’ Platinum Status and ‘Top Employers’, WCHG is now amongst an elite group of world class organisations recognised for demonstrating a commitment to high performance through excellent people management. WCHG is the first Housing Association in the North West of England to achieve this accreditation.

Currently the Executive Director of Resources at Salix Homes, Simon has a long standing career in robust financial management, and has led on a wide portfolio of corporate functions which include Finance & Treasury, People Services, Performance and Value or Money, Procurement, ICT, Governance, Risk and Insurance, Health and Safety and Marketing and Communications.   

Simon is an experienced Executive Director of Finance, within both the private and social housing sectors, and brings 26 years of solid financial management and expertise. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Simon has significant knowledge and experience of supporting colleagues through organisational change, including mergers, and has a proven track record of delivering robust high quality services, streamlining business efficiencies and providing the solid foundations for a sustained infrastructure to help support communities
