Despite the pandemic Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) continue to build new homes in Wythenshawe.

Work is now well underway at the former garage site on Greenbrow Road to develop it into a 3-storey apartment block with parking that will provide 10 new homes (8 x 1 bedroom and 2 x 2-bedroom flats) for Affordable Rent in Wythenshawe and is scheduled to be completed in August 2021.

The block will be electric only and will have electric boilers and heat panels and is located between a nursery and a parade of shops with the total value of the scheme £1,671,295.

WCHG Executive Director of Development Andrea Lowman said, “Building new homes for affordable rent is a part of our purpose here at WCHG and we will continue to look for opportunities across the area, wherever we can to help meet the ever-rising need for new homes in Wythenshawe. We are also working on other opportunities to widen our development portfolio across Wythenshawe to address the growing demand for the local community”.

The Architect on the development is BTP, the Contractor is Tempus Design & Build and the Employers Agent is Arcus Consulting.

Michael Blakeley from Tempus said, “We are proud to have been chosen as partner by WCHG to construct their new housing development on Greenbrow Road in Wythenshawe. The site is adjacent to the Clever Clowns nursery and comprises 8 x 1 bed apartments and 2 x 2 bed apartments over 4 storeys with associated undercroft car parking. The scheme is due for completion August 2021 and will bring more quality, affordable homes to the area”.
