We Love MCR Charity Hamper Campaign 2017

After a successful nomination by the staff of Benchill Community Centre to the 'We Love Manchester' Hamper Campaign 2017, The Lord Mayor of Manchester visited the Centre to deliver some Hampers on behalf of the charity.

The 'We Love Manchester Charity' helps to support community groups and families across Manchester and the centre applied for funding so they could distribute the hampers to people in need in the Benchill Community.

The hampers were awarded to local families in need including a single mum of 6 young children and two older residents living on their own.

Executive Director of Housing at WCHG Jacque Allen said, “This is a fantastic initiative and we are delighted that these hampers will help people in the Benchill Community. The work the Benchill Community Centre team continues to deliver and working in partnership with Real Benchill project has meant that we are able to reach more and more residents to engage them in having a direct input into their communities.  Real Benchill is working in partnership with WCHG, MCC, GMP, Greater Manchester Fire Service and Health partners and has enabled us to connect jointly with the people in our community.  It was a great opportunity for the Lord Mayor to personally see some of the fantastic work that is going on at the Benchill Community Centre and Wythenshawe.”
