One of our tenants is getting ready to start an exciting new career after our Employment team helped turn one opportunity into another.
Danielle first came to our Real Opportunities Scheme for help with taking her next step towards work. With support from the team, she built her confidence, strengthened her skills and started applying for opportunities that matched what she wanted to achieve.
When our own Business and Administration apprenticeship came up, Danielle applied and made a brilliant impression. She reached the final interview and, although she narrowly missed out on the role, our team could see the potential she had.
And that wasn’t the end of the story.
Local employer AB Building & Electrical Ltd. had approached us for help recruiting a Business and Administration apprentice. Our Employment team knew Danielle could be a great fit and put her forward.
Danielle impressed at interview and landed the role!
We continued to help Danielle, including getting her enrolled at college and ready for the next stage of her apprenticeship.
Danielle said: “My journey through the interview process was a great experience, and I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to secure my apprenticeship.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Poppi and Adele [from the Employment team] for supporting and helping me throughout the process.
“I’m really excited to start this new chapter and begin my apprenticeship with AB.”
Daniel, Operations Director at AB Building & Electrical Ltd., shared: “We’re delighted to offer Danielle a Business Administration apprenticeship and support her as she starts her career with AB. Our long-standing partnership with Wythenshawe Community Housing Group helps us create meaningful opportunities for local people, and we’d like to thank the Employment team for their continued support.”
Danielle’s story shows how working together can open up new opportunities for local people. Missing out on one role didn’t stop her – and the impression she made helped open the door to another.
It’s also a great example of our values in action: supporting aspiration, working as one team and working with local partners to make a positive difference in our community.
Congratulations, Danielle – we wish you every success in your new role!
