Lower energy bills and warmer homes with solar energy

Lower energy bills and warmer homes with solar energy

We’re making your home warmer, greener and cheaper to run – and this is just the start.

We’re installing solar panels on eight flat blocks in Baguley as part of the government’s Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund Wave 3. This funding helps us improve our homes so they’re more energy efficient and cost less to run. We’re also adding external wall insulation to help keep your home warmer for longer.

So, what does this mean for you?

If you live in one of these homes and aren’t a leaseholder, you’ll benefit from a shared solar energy system called Solshare. This clever system allows the electricity generated from the solar panels to be shared between homes in the building.

You’ll still pay your electricity bills as normal, but you’ll also get some free electricity from the solar panels, which should help you spend less overall.

We know that energy costs matter. That’s why we’re working to make your home more affordable to run and more comfortable all year round.

The external wall insulation will also make a real difference. It helps to:

  • Keep heat in your home for longer
  • Reduce heating costs
  • Lower the risk of damp and mould
  • Improve comfort in colder months

And it’s not just about your home. We’re also reducing our carbon footprint, helping to protect the environment and support a greener Wythenshawe for all of us.

This project is a great example of how we’re working together to invest in our homes, support our community and build a more sustainable future.
