A Wythenshawe resident is starting an exciting new career after securing a Business and Administration Apprenticeship with contractor Rothwell Group.
Lacey landed the role after our Real Opportunities team worked with Rothwell Group to create an opportunity for local people and help candidates get ready for the recruitment process.
Our Employment Co-ordinators, Poppi and Adele, worked with applicants, helping them prepare for interviews and putting forward a shortlist of local candidates. Rothwell Group then held the interviews at our offices, giving candidates a welcoming and accessible place to meet the team.
And that was where Lacey impressed during the interview and was offered the apprenticeship!
Jamie, Assistant Project Manager at Rothwell Group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Lacey, a new local apprentice, to our team. We’re really looking forward to working with her, supporting her development and helping her build valuable skills and experience as she begins her career with us.
“We’re proud to invest in local talent and can’t wait to see her grow and succeed as part of the team.”
Lacey shared: “I’m really excited to start my Administration Apprenticeship with Rothwell whilst gaining valuable experience in the workplace. I’m grateful to Wythenshawe Community Housing Group and Rothwell for the opportunity, and I’m excited for the future and to see where this opportunity takes me.”
Poppi, from our Real Opportunities team, added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Rothwell for offering a local Wythenshawe resident this fantastic apprenticeship and for trusting us to help find the right person for the role.
“Well done, Lacey! It’s absolutely well-deserved and we can’t wait to see you flourish in your new role.”
This is a brilliant example of what can happen when we work together with local partners. By connecting businesses with local talent, we can open doors to new careers and support people in Wythenshawe to take their next step.
