Pre-employment

Wythenshawe Futures, Housing Apprenticeships and other entry -level positions are recruited for through a pre-employment course in partnership with The Manchester College and Job Centre Plus. The course teaches employability skills and includes accredited units for Customer Service Level 1. Included with the course are mock interviews, completion of the application form and gathering of references to prepare them for the guaranteed interview if they successfully complete. Successful completion is determined by attendance and engagement. Those who go on the course have a noticeable increase in confidence and understanding of workplace ethics.

• 181 Wythenshawe residents have taken part in courses since February 2012
• 158 were offered an interview
• 92 went into work (80 with WCHG)
