First stop of Summer Roadshow is a hit

Our Resident Involvement team smashed it at the first stop of our exciting Summer Roadshow, meeting over 30 of our Bideford residents.

Held at the Bideford Community Centre on Tuesday 11th June, the event was the first of eight to welcome WCHG residents and invite them to catch up with the latest and see all the changes we’ve made with their help.

To kick off the first stop, attendees were in with a chance of winning £100 in a raffle and enjoyed free cakes, pastries, teas and coffees. They had the opportunity to engage with a range of our services and had the option of joining in on a litter pick, supported by our partner Jewson, which resulted in seven bags of litter being collected and disposed of.

Lorna Clancy, Resident Involvement Manager, shares: “Overall, the event was a huge success and I want to give a big thank you to all who helped out and made it what it was. Kirsty and Anthony from the centre accommodated us massively, so thank you to them! I’d also like to give a special well done to Jodie and Dan from my team, who worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone had a great time and that all information attendees needed was there on the day.

“This event gave residents an opportunity to speak to staff and chat with directors, and ultimately we came away with ways in which we can better support the community.”

Our services available at the event included Investment, Community Development, the Anti-Social Behaviour team, Facilities, Environmental Services, Digital Inclusion and our Centres team, the Customer Hub and our Neighbourhood team. Involved residents from our Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) were also present to offer information to those who may be interested.

The purpose of the Summer Roadshow is to give our residents who get involved an opportunity to see the changes we’ve made and share their thoughts on how we improve local services.

Be sure to stop by the next one! Full details are here.
